'Libraries & copyright': a practical guide (ebook)

by admin last modified 2007-09-10 14:10
A practical guide for people who work in non-profit libraries and archives. We explain the circumstances in which the staff of libraries and archives may copy and communicate material in their collection without obtaining the permission which would usually be required. We discuss inter-library document delivery as well as supply to individual clients. In addition, we look at the circumstances in which clients of libraries and archives may use copyright material without the permission normally required, and the liability of the library or archive for clients’ actions. This publication includes updated information following the introduction in March 2001 of the digital agenda amendments to the Copyright Act which allow libraries to make and communicate digital copies of material in their collections. We have included at the end of the publication some notices and sample forms which are designed to comply with requirements in the Copyright Act.

60 pages (A4 format), plus updating supplement covering amendments resulting from the Australia-US Free Trade Agreement affecting libraries, and additional information about the use of films.

Price: $30 (including GST).

This book is supplied as a pdf file. The customer can print one copy of the file. That copy can be made available in a library.
