© the Future: UK IPO releases framework to guide copyright into 21st century

On 16 December 2008, the UK Intellectual Property Office released a framework document to guide the UK's copyright policy in the 21st century.

The Office is seeking written responses to its issues paper “© the Future: Developing a copyright agenda for the 21st century” and is arranging a series of meetings and events to involve interested parties in discussions.

The four key discussion areas identified in the issues paper are: access to works; incentivising investment and creativity; recognising creative input; and, authenticating works.

Written submissions are being accepted until 6 February 2009. The initial period of consultation will run until February 2009.
