Innovation Review report released

by admin last modified 2008-09-09 18:54

The Report on the Review of the National Innovation System was released on 9 September 2008.

There are a number of recommendations relevant to intellectual property, mainly in Chapter 7. These include that material released for public information by Australian governments should be released under a Creative Commons licence, and that information, research and content funded by Australian governments should be made freely available over the internet as part of the global public commons. The report, however, has not been released under a Creative Commons licence.

In its media release announcing the report, the government says it will respond to the recommendations in the report by the end of 2008.
