'Libraries & copyright': a practical guide (ebook)
A practical guide for people who work in non-profit libraries and
archives. We explain the circumstances in which the staff of libraries
and archives may copy and communicate material in their collection
without obtaining the permission which would usually be required. We
discuss inter-library document delivery as well as supply to individual
clients. In addition, we look at the circumstances in which clients of
libraries and archives may use copyright material without the
permission normally required, and the liability of the library or
archive for clients’ actions. This publication includes updated
information following the introduction in March 2001 of the digital
agenda amendments to the Copyright Act which allow libraries to make
and communicate digital copies of material in their collections. We
have included at the end of the publication some notices and sample
forms which are designed to comply with requirements in the Copyright
Act.
