What's covered in the session

NEW COURSE
Copyright allows creators to earn a living from their work. Knowing how copyright law protects work is one part of the equation. The other part is understanding how you can let others use your work – via a licence or assignment – so you can earn an income.  Both these subjects are covered in this seminar. Topics include:
  • licensing and assigning rights to use your work
  • practical technological steps to protect your material
  • what to consider when granting permission (licences) to use your material
  • tips on working out how much to charge
  • industry-specific ways of dealing with rights
  • standard form licences (e.g. Creative Commons): things you need to know
