Who this training is for

For librarians, acquisitions officers, compliance officers and others who acquire or manage digital or online resources. This session is for people who have some understanding of copyright principles – for example they have attended our Copyright Essentials training session or have read our Copyright Essentials book.

What's covered in the session

Digital resources can be handy to use but complex to administer. In this session we give you a plain-English guide to the process, including common pitfalls and ways to limit your risk. Topics include:
  • relationship between contract and copyright
  • working out what the licence agreement means
  • problem clauses
  • negotiating changes
  • compliance practices
